North Woods Elementary School - Home of the Wolves!

We are a community family based school located just outside of Ethel. We are a small school of currently 150 students in grades Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. We take pride and enjoyment in our Outdoor Learning Environment. We have a vast trail system through our woods, meadow, and heritage orchard. We also have opportunities to enjoy wetland marsh and stream exploration. We enjoy our grounds year round as we have a school set of snowshoes to explore seasonal changes in the winter, gardens in the spring, and fall to tend to. Our staff and community helpers have helped to put together learning kits and activities, with equipment to use when studying our environment. We are very fortunate to have these grounds to enhance our Environment Education focus.

In “The North Woods” we value and work towards being Global Citizens. This means being aware of the wider world, having a sense of their own role as a world citizen, respecting values and diversity and having an understanding of how the world works. A Global Citizen tries to understand other people and have empathy for them. They act fairly in their choices, their decisions, and their words. Global Citizens believe that they are just as important as everyone else. Global Citizens believe they can make a positive difference in the world. These are our beliefs and goals for every member of the North Woods Elementary Team.
