Upper Thames Elementary School - Home of the Tigers!

Upper Thames is an accessible and inclusive school serving West Perth and its surrounding areas. We provide a quality education for all students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. Our spaces are shared with Perth Care for Kids, a childcare provider with whom we have a strong relationship and partnership to serve the young people of our community.

Our physical spaces are safe and accessible. Visitors request access to the building at the front door by pressing a digital doorbell and identifying themselves to office staff, while staff access the building with a digital key card. In this manner, access to the building is safe and controlled. Automatic doors with push-button functionality can be found throughout the school at exterior doors and at accessible washrooms. An elevator at the front of the school, as well as a lift to the gym stage level, provides full accessibility to staff, students and visitors. Our school grounds include paved path access to an accessible swing. The paths to our climber and inside our Nature Centre are leveled by wood chip mulch.

We strive to maintain safe and barrier-free access to our school building and grounds, and to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for our students, staff and community partners.
